Pranayama For Asthma
Sudden suffocation and gasping at midnight. Sudden panic tries to increase your oxygen supply. The whole world gets stuck around you.
Asthma is a chronic respiratory system disease. Which mainly affects your airways which carries air to the lungs.
The most common symptoms are shortness of breathing, difficulty in breathing.
My friend has asthma. Her asthma triggered by pollution and cold. She has very low cold temperament.
So it may trigger because of many reasons like pollen, mites, food-related allergies, dust, smoke or pollution.
What I am trying to say is out of 13 people 1 is having asthma.
1 of 12 kids have asthma, and this is really shocking..
My mind always ask me is asthma curable?
When I was a kid my mom used to take me to a yoga class.
As like to do some adventurous so I really liked yoga. P
Putting my head under the leg, do the unimaginable things. So it was fun for me. But now I know, it was so important for me.
I am not telling about doing only yoga. But any kind of exercise is very much needed for a kid to survive in this dirty world.
It could be any kind of sports, swimming, any physical exercise is a must.
So what you can do now is add simple pranayama in your daily routine. Just half an hour. Is it big for you?
Hope not.
We all know asthma is mainly respiratory system disease as I have already mentioned.
So these pranayamas will be mostly focused on breathing exercise.
- Bharastika Pranayama —
Be seated as padmasana. Then place your hands on your knees. Feel relaxed. Then start inhaling and exhaling forcefully from both your nostrils. Don't forget to force it while exhaling by making a hissing sound. This pranayama also is known as breath of fire.
2. Anulom Vilom Pranayama —
Be seated as padmasana. The spine should be straight. Then place your right hand on your nose and block your right nostril with the right thumb. So now inhale from left nostril for 2 sec and hold the air inside for 4 sec by blocking both nostrils. After 4 sec open right nostril and release the air by exhaling. Then start repeating it alternatively.
3. Kapalbhati Pranayama —
You can sit a padmasana or vajrasana. But your spin needs to be straight. Place your hands on the thigh. This time take a deep breath and while exhaling contract your belly as you are throwing out the air at short burst.
These are the very important for anyone who wants to perform it. But I will suggest taking expert advice before performing it if you are an asthma patient.
